MSME – TESTING CENTRE, KOLKATA
Procedure to utilize Test / Calibration facilities

1.      Test / Calibration facilities and charges could be obtained by furnishing details of Test / Calibration requirements, relevant specification, range / values to be calibrated etc. by letter/ fax/ e-mail.

2.      All test / calibration jobs must be accompanied by a test / calibration request letter of the clients, duly authenticated, to be addressed to Director, MSME - Testing Centre, Kolkata spelling out clearly the requirements of test/ calibration of samples/instruments with governing specification/methodology of the test, name of the test, grade, condition etc.

3.   Test /Calibration charges are to be paid in advance in full through Banker’s Pay Order or Demand Draft in favour of Director, MSME - Testing Centre, Kolkata, payable at Kolkata or in cash at the Cash Counter of this Centre if the amount involved is Rs.5,000/- or less.

4.   For claiming the concessional charge applicable to SSI units, the customer must produce a Xerox copy of the valid SSI Registration Certificate, along with test request letter and the test job.

      5.    Urgent and priority jobs whenever feasible are charged at double the ordinary rate.

6.      All test samples shall be brought in sealed condition and in adequate quantity/number for carrying out tests as per relevant standard specification.  Test jobs / samples forwarded through Inspection agencies e.g. BIS, RDSO, Defence, etc. shall be accepted only if their seals are found in tact at the time of receiving the jobs/samples.

7.      All calibration jobs shall be clearly identified with identification number and mark of the client on the equipment.

8.      Machining charges for preparation of Test sample, as per relevant specification, shall be charged extra over and above the test and other charges.

9.  Test / Calibration reports are normally sent by speed post could also be collected by hand by the authorized representative of the customer from TPC Cell of this Centre on any working day from 10.30 A.M. to 1.30 P.M. and from 2.00 P.M. to 4.00 P.M. (except Saturday and Sunday).

10.  For collection of tested samples and/or calibrated equipment/ instruments and test/calibration reports, etc.  the customer/ customer’s representative must produce a letter of authorization on the Company’s letter head/ seal, duly attested by the authorized person.

11.  For all future enquiries pertaining to completion of test/calibration, the customer should refer to Job Numbers as well as PDC (Probable Date of Completion) given on the TR-5 (Money Receipt)/ Customer’s Request Form issued to him and may contact the Asstt. Director-Incharge, TPC Cell.

12.  For clearing any doubt still persisting, the customer may contact personally the Asstt. Director-Incharge / TPC on any working day from 10.30 A.M. to 1.30 P.M. and 2.00 P.M. to 4.00 P.M. (except Saturday and Sunday).

13.  Concession/Rebate on bulk quantity of sample for identical test and on high-valued single test/calibration assignment.

a.      A concession of 15 % on the revised test charges may be allowed on the bulk samples with a minimum of 4 nos. of identical samples with identical test from the same party.

b.      Concession at the following rates will be allowed on high-valued individual test/ calibration assignment from the same party with the following financial limits:

      1. Upto Rs.20,000/- = Nil.
      2. Above Rs.20,000/-and upto Rs.35,000/- = 5%
      3. Above Rs. 35,000/- and upto Rs. 60,000/-=10%
      4. Above Rs.60,000/- =15%
         

Note: When any assignment is eligible for both the concessions, as in (a) and (b) above, the amount of concession will be the amount which is higher and in no case both the concession/rebate will be considered for a single assignment.

    14.   Additional charge for a) Outdoor / Calibration at Unit’s premises :

      1.       1st visit : Rs. 600/-
2.     
* 2nd visit : Rs.1000/-
3.     
* 3rd visit : Rs.1500/-

(Plus either transport charge or transport facility from client’s side )

*(If the assignment cannot be completed during the 1st visit, due to exclusive reason from the customer’s side e.g. breakdown/non-functioning of the machine, Jigs & fixtures, etc. as required and supposed to be provided by the unit, are not available )

Outstation Test / Calibration Unit’s outstation premises:

Outdoor charges as at (a) above plus TA, DA, Taxi fare, Porter charges, as admissible under Govt. Rule and as amended from time to time.

Postal Registration charge for sending Test / Calibration Report by speed post:

      4.      Min. Rs.20/- upto 200 gms for local delivery
5.     
Rs. 30/- upto 500 Kms.
6.     
Rs.45/- beyond 500 Kms.

           N.B. : This procedure is subjected to amendments any time as per Government Order.
